Promising Future

dog pictures, promising future, ttot, reasons to be thankful
My Ten Things of Thankful
It's a promising-future-week

(1) Here’s my Velvet doing Child pose
With our early morning yoga
Look at her extend her paws
She’s my cute partner in yoga

(2) The next pic is some soup
I made from leftovers
I put together bread
And some food from the last dinner

It’s quick and very filling
Delicious as my daughter said
Thank goodness for the internet
For the ideas and tips I read

(3) The view of the lake is pretty
Combined with the weather that’s sunny
Like a painting of an inviting picture
But as true as it can be

(4) Here’s Velvet again with me
My very willing companion
She goes with me everywhere
In any destination

(5) She sits down when I sit down
Overlooking the water
She relaxes when I rest
On this warm and very nice weather

(6) She walks along the garden
Sticking her nose up as she smells
The fragrance from the flowers
She enjoys it, I can tell

(7) Then there’s a picture of me
Modelling the earrings I misplaced
I was glad that I found them
They’re gift from mom I can’t replace

(8) Have you seen enough of Velvet?
I don’t think you have, so here
(9) And here’s the 4th picture of Velvet
Please forgive me, she’s my dear

(10) Not pictured but most important
My teens are safe and behaving
It’s a better week than last
Their future seems more promising

  1. It's wonderful when something special is lost then found again. I had lost a ring Bryan had given me. It went missing for a couple of years, but showed up seemingly out of nowhere. Glad your earrings from your mom are back in your ears.

    1. I like almost anything my mom gives me. She loves jewelries, so she usually gives me and my teens jewelries. I cannot complain.

Too much Velvet? No! She's adorable. I love the first picture - she does a perfect Child Pose :D Dogs are truly our best friends, aren't they?
Great idea for soup. I've never done the "throw in the pot what you have handy" lol. One day maybe I'll be adventurous.

Charity and The Garden of Gods

The alphabet this week is the letter C. What words inspire you to write? Today, I am thinking of:

CharityClimbCanChurchChoosingChangesChoiceCharity MilesChildContribution This statement from church sticks to my mind this week. God wants us to want what he wants.

Is that like I want my teens to want what I want not simply do what I say without putting their heart into it? You betcha.

I'd like them to do good for themselves, nourish, not harm--their brain, body, and soul. I'd like them to put focus in school and pick good friends. I'd like them to be, someday, self-sufficient, and be helpful members of the society.

God wants us to helps ourselves so we can be of help to others. God wants us to be generous. It's only last Saturday, that I was convinced I should give more to charity andchurch. The right time in my definition will never come as I would probably never be satisfied with my income and expenses. But God wants me to give to others. In my preference, it would be …

Forcing Myself to Express Gratitude

Hello. Hello. Here I am again this week. Back with a thankful post, I did not feel like writing.

My oldest child (18) surprised me with an old car he bought a few days ago--a Dodge Stratus 2003, sedan, with a sportsy look. Never mind the paint that needs to be redone. That is just cosmetics. But the windshield has cracks in two spots. In addition, the front tires are bald, and the first time he introduced it to me, it did not even start.

"Oh, I must have left a light on."

Maybe.

The car is operable again but I am still nervous. He was supposed to work today at 4 pm, I thought. At 3:45 pm, I got hold of him. He was about to drive from a park to home. He said he'd go home to change his shoes before work. Half an hour later, I could not concentrate. My head is hurting and I was almost certain he got into some kind of trouble.

He came home for a couple minutes. He seemed OK. He works at 4:30 pm, he said. I wished he would have told me earlier.

Communication. We need to talk…

Amazon Fresh Review

The letter of the week from ABC Wednesday is the letter A. For the lack of ideas, I am writing about the new (to me) grocery delivery service through  Amazon called Amazon Fresh. I promise I am not getting paid by Amazon for writing this post.

How timely is that that I have just received my first grocery today with Amazon Fresh. What did I order? See the picture below including five grocery items not included.

Here is a review based on my first try with Amazon Fresh Grocery Delivery by Amazon in Denver, Colorado.
Pros:

One advantage of using the service is the convenience. I ordered online without having to walk the isles of the store and standing in line waiting for the cashier. The groceries are delivered right to my front door--kinda like the Uber or Lyft for my groceries. This service can attract home-bound adults, busy folks, or some people with transportation issues, like, maybe college students who do not have a car. I am thinking I can do this to friends who are sick or old who…
